Google to Announces 45,000 Scholarshps For Pakistani Students

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Syed Aminul Haq, signed an agreement with Google on Friday to provide 45,000 scholarships for women in the IT sector. The signing of the agreement took place during the Startups for Industries and IT Exports conference held at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI).

Under the agreement, Google will provide scholarships to women who want to pursue a career in IT. The scholarships encompass not only the expenses related to tuition fees but also cover the costs of books and other necessary expenditures. A minimum of 40% of the scholarships will be allocated to women from underserved communities.

Minister Aminul Haq said that the agreement with Google is a significant step forward in promoting education and empowering women in the IT sector. Google Country Director for Pakistan, Saad Haroon, said that the company is committed to supporting the development of the IT sector in Pakistan. He said that the scholarships will help to create a more skilled and diverse workforce in the IT sector. He said that Google is also working with the government to develop a national IT strategy that will help to boost the IT sector in Pakistan.
