'Police Has Surrounded My House,' Imran Khan Says Fearing Arrest

LAHORE: Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has expressed fears that he may be taken into custody as police have reportedly surrounded his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
In a tweet, Khan said that this may be his last tweet before his next arrest. He was previously arrested on May 9 in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, but was later granted bail by the court.
However, he has stated that he will not put up resistance against the police if they come to his residence with a search warrant.
Khan has also expressed concern over the presence of "40 terrorists" who are allegedly hiding in his residence.
He has urged the police to conduct a search operation in a civilised manner and to provide the names of the terrorists to him before proceeding with the search.
He warned against using the search operation as an excuse to attack his house.
The interim Punjab government has given the PTI a 24-hour deadline to hand over the "30-40 terrorists" to the police, failing which the law will take its course.
The government claims to have credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of the terrorists in Zaman Park, which were confirmed through geo-fencing.
Khan has accused the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led government of not holding elections in the country, even if they have to violate the Constitution.
He believes that the ruling alliance is afraid of him coming into power and reopening their corruption cases worth billions of rupees.
The PTI leader has also expressed concerns that the ongoing crackdown on his party's leaders and workers over their alleged involvement in violent protests will trigger a huge backlash that will cause more damage.
He denies any role in the ransacking of public and military installations following his arrest on May 9 and is moving the court to form a judicial commission to probe the countrywide riots.
He claims that miscreants were infiltrated into the protests with weapons and were asking people to attack the Corps Commander House.
According to him, as many as 25 PTI workers were killed and 700 were receiving medical treatment after they were shot at during the violent protests.
Thousands of workers and leaders have also been put in jail.
