Dr. Ramesh Kumar and Diplomats Explore Takht Bhai, Mardan's Historical Treasures

The head of the Prime Minister's Task Force for Gandhara Tourism, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, along with ambassadors from various countries including China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Nepal, visited historical and ancient archealogical site of Takht Bhai, Mardan۔ During their visit, the delegation explored multiple sites and received informative briefings from the Archaeology Department.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar stated that promoting Gandhara tourism in the country is the top priority of the current government. Pakistan is home to numerous historical sites, monuments, and architectural wonders that represent the history of this region.

“We are committed to promoting Gandhara tourism and showcasing our rich historical legacy to the world,” said Dr. Kumar. “Takht Bhai is one of the most important archaeological sites in Pakistan, and we are grateful to the ambassadors for visiting and learning more about its history.”

The Ambassador of Thailand praised Pakistan for being the custodian of a wealth of heritage sites, monuments, and historical buildings. The initiatives taken by the government and the people to preserve and protect these sites were highly commendable.

In the Gandhara period, Mahārāja Aśoka is considered as the chief patron in spreading the teachings of Buddhism. On this occasion, the diplomats expressed their joy and stated that the opportunity to visit the sacred sites of TakhtBhai from the Gandhara period is a desire shared by every Buddhist in the world.

The visit to Takht Bhai provided the delegation with a profound understanding of the historical and cultural significance of the site. The ancient ruins and artifacts showcased the magnificence of the Gandhara civilization and its impact on the development of Buddhism in the region.
