DUBAI: Dubai-based airline, Emirates Group, has emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic with its most profitable year yet, posting a profit of Dh10.6 billion, compared to a loss of Dh3.9 billion the previous year. The airline's revenues rose by 81% to Dh107.4 billion ($29.3 billion) as it restored its global network and reinstated more passenger flights.
Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said, "We’re proud of our 2022-23 performance which is not only a full recovery, but also a record result."
The Group's cash balance also hit an all-time high of Dh42.5 billion ($11.6 billion), up 65% from last year due to strong demand across its core business divisions and markets.
The airline has been successful in navigating the challenges of the pandemic and has implemented various measures to ensure passenger safety while continuing to provide essential travel services.
Emirates' commitment to excellence in service and its well-established global network have allowed the airline to bounce back from the pandemic stronger than ever.
