PTI Leader Ali Muhammad Khan Arrested Again After Release From Jail

ISLAMABAD:
Ali Muhammad Khan, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was arrested again on Tuesday, shortly after being released from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail.

Khan was among several PTI leaders who were arrested on May 9 for inciting violence during a protest in Islamabad. He was released from jail on Tuesday evening, but was re-arrested by police a few hours later.

The PTI's official Twitter handle confirmed that Ali Muhammad Khan's recent arrest now marks his third encounter with the law. As the day unfolded, another PTI leader, Shehryar Khan Afridi, faced a similar fate as he was re-arrested from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, shortly after being granted release under the 3-MPO (Maintenance of Public Order) ordinance.

The PTI has condemned the arrests of its leaders and accused the government of using the police to suppress dissent.

The party has called for a nationwide protest on Wednesday to protest against the arrests.

The arrests of PTI leaders have come amid a political crisis in Pakistan. The PTI-led government lost its majority in the National Assembly last week after several of its lawmakers defected to the opposition.

The opposition has now submitted a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is facing increasing pressure to resign.

It remains to be seen how the arrests of PTI leaders will impact the political situation in Pakistan. The PTI has vowed to continue its struggle against the government and has called for a nationwide protest on Wednesday to protest against the arrests.

The opposition, on the other hand, is hoping to capitalize on the political crisis and oust Prime Minister Imran Khan from power.

Shehryar Khan Afridi also re-arrested

In a separate development, PTI leader Shehryar Khan Afridi was also re-arrested from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, shortly after being granted release under the 3-MPO (Maintenance of Public Order) ordinance.

Afridi was arrested on May 9 for his alleged involvement in inciting violence during a protest in Islamabad. He was released from jail on Tuesday evening under the 3-MPO, which allows the government to detain people for up to three months without charge.

Azam Swati issued non-bailable arrest warrant

In another development, a special central judge in Islamabad, Azam Khan, delivered the reserved verdict in the case concerning PTI senator Azam Swati's controversial tweets. The judge issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Swati.

Swati was arrested on May 9 for his alleged involvement in inciting violence during a protest in Islamabad. He was released on bail on May 10.

However, the judge issued the non-bailable arrest warrant after Swati failed to appear in court on several occasions.
