KARACHI: TikTok and ed-tech startup Edkasa have forged a partnership with the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) to expand the reach of the #ExamReady scholarship program, benefiting more than 10,000 deserving students in the province.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to digitize learning processes and enhance learning outcomes through innovative approaches.
In early 2022, TikTok, Edkasa, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) introduced #ExamReady, an unprecedented STEM-focused digital learning initiative aimed at facilitating online education and distance learning for high school students. This pioneering endeavor received widespread acclaim, as confirmed by a statement released by the social media platform.
Moreover, in the preceding months of this year, the #ExamReady scholarship initiative emerged, providing online educational subsidies to a commendable cohort of 18,000 students hailing from various regions across Pakistan.
The intention behind this initiative is to reward and empower students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to their education.
By partnering with the Sindh Education Foundation, the objective is to extend the reach of quality education to underprivileged regions in Sindh.
This collaboration will specifically target post-primary students in grades IX to XII, ensuring that they have access to educational opportunities that would otherwise be limited or unavailable.
The transformative #ExamReady campaign has played a pivotal role in empowering millions of Pakistani students. It has brought to life over 500 educational videos, covering essential subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. These videos go beyond traditional instruction and provide valuable study tips and exam hacks, enabling students to excel academically.
The impact of these educational videos has been remarkable, with TikTok becoming the platform of choice for Pakistani students. To date, the videos have amassed over 558 million views and have inspired nearly 114,000 video creations. This signifies the widespread engagement and enthusiasm among the student community for this unique learning experience.
Zara Basharat Higgs, who serves as the Manager of Public Policy Programs and Partnerships for South Asia and Pakistan, highlighted the core conviction that education is a basic entitlement, and technology stands as a crucial driver to enhance students' access and results.
This joint venture involving TikTok, Edkasa, and the Sindh Education Foundation seeks to translate this aspiration into a tangible reality, ushering in a more promising tomorrow for the youth in Pakistan.
